The results from Acker Merrall & Condit’s recent auction previewed here, contrast somewhat with their first attempt to capitalise on Hong Kong’s burgeoning fine wine market.
Their press release crows proudly about some doom-defiant bidding seen during the sale which took place at the Shangri-La in Hong Kong on 15 Nov. Highlights include:
- A total of HK$52 million (US$6.7m or £4.5m) realised from the whole sale.
- 144 bottles of DRC assortments from 1990 to 2001 selling for HK$2.1m (US$274,718 or £182,765)
- A 504-bottle cage of Krug Grand Cuvée making HK$590,480 (US$76,171 or £50,695)
