Amarone 2010 – the tasting notes
This collection of 61 tasting notes was heralded in Walter's article on Amaronics.
Perhaps another sign that the Valpolicella region could pay a little more attention to differences in its terroir came during the blind tasting of the 2010 Amarone. It turned out they had been arranged alphabetically, not by the rather crude subzones: Valpolicella Classico (the historic hills), Valpantena, and Valpolicella proper, the last a huge area that actually includes both Valpolicella Classico and Valpantena, and stretches as far as Soave to the east.
