Julia writes The Big Fortified Tasting, or BFT, has become an extremely welcome annual event in London since the first edition in 2011. It was established by Danny Cameron, then of specialist importer of Portuguese wines Raymond Reynolds but now making gin with his brother at Dyfi Distillery in rural Wales, and the late Ben Campbell-Johnston, formerly of importer Fells, owned since 1977 by the Symington family and exclusive UK importer of their ports and table wines, as part of a much wider portfolio.
