You have to hand it to the Perrin family of the southern Rhône. They were pioneers of organic viticulture and make a great range of wines from all over the region – from Château de Beaucastel via a widening range of bottlings under the Famille Perrin label from astutely-bought vineyards in some of the best villages of the region to the Vieille Ferme range of inexpensive blends from Luberon and the increasingly interesting vineyards of Ventoux. And they have their Tablas Creek operation, including a vine nursery, in Paso Robles in California's Central Coast.
