BRL Hardy and Constellation Brands may form world's biggest wine company

The vast Australian outfit BRL Hardy (second only to Southcorp-including-Rosemount in Australia) is in merger talks with Constellation Brands, the even more enormous American company that was until quite recently known as Canandaigua and has its original roots in the New York state wine industry. Well, it's notable that the word merger is used by the Australians but according to Canandaigua, the talks are about 'acquisition or merger with' the Aussies.
As already noted here, the two have a 50:50 joint venture in California, Pacific Wine Partners which distributes BRL Hardys' wine in the US. This has clearly gone so...
