While battling “Brunellopoli", the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino has taken its integrity campaign to Sonoma County, California.
Tiny Petroni Vineyards in the city of Sonoma has been asked by the Consorzio to cease using the word “Brunello” in the name of its top Sangiovese wine. Petroni Vineyards proprietor Lorenzo Petroni – a native of Lucca, Italy – is so proud of his roots and his 100% Sangiovese Grosso that he calls it Brunello di Sonoma...
