Ch Climens back to 1964

This wonderful tasting of 37 vintages back to 1964 took place at Ch Climens at the end of the Bordeaux primeurs week, in early April 2009.
Lucien Lurton, father of the current owner Bérénice Lurton, bought the property from the Gounouilhou family in 1971. Bérénice took over in 1992, with Frédéric Nivelle as maître de chai since 2003. I found the vintages before the Lurtons took over to be a little more brash than their successors, but stunning at over 40 years of age.
