I recently tasted a range of wines chez the biggest UK wine retail chain Majestic. They have a long history of buying wines direct from Bordeaux and of mopping up parcels of unwanted wine. There’s a heck of a lot of that in Bordeaux at the moment – not least in the négociants’ warehouses. But this was a purchase direct from the château, apparently.
