During this year's presentation of the new Chianti Classico vintages in Florence in February, the Consorzio's carefully prepared press kit promised nothing less than a 'Chianti Classico Revolution'. It made me a little wary, because if there is one thing history has taught us, it is that official politics never aim at instigating revolutions. Instead, they are triggered by their opposition, and often in a very disorganised way.
