English Wine Week 2003
Stop laughing at the back. This is a national campaign, run in conjunction with Food From Britain, to promote the sterling (definitely not euro) efforts of those behind English vineyards and their wines. The aim is to link as much as possible with regional foods. (There are surely no longer sniggers at England's fine cheeses, meats, fish and other produce – and the proportion of British kitchens which manage to ruin them has been shrinking dramatically).
This is summer half-term week including the Whitsun Bank Holiday. Participating vineyards include those that are not normally open to the public, but will be throwing open their doors to help promote English wines and regional food.
