Israeli wines gather international momentum
Wednesday 30 March 2005
Israel held its first generic wine tasting in London this week. Being Easter week, it was not exactly mobbed by trade buyers as far as I could see, but there was a respectable turnout of already interested parties and I arrived at about the same time as my fellow wine writers Charles Metcalfe and Oz Clarke.
Under the auspices of the Israel Export Institute there had been similar events in Stockholm and Paris last year, and a big showing in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco is planned for November this year.
