Legendary fortifieds

As Alex wrote in Putting wine in context, we were both lucky enough to attend the most spectacular tasting held to celebrate the Institute of Master of Wine's 60th anniversary. Spectacles of course should be seen rather than tasted and the real fireworks were on the palate, but just reading such background notes as were available in the tasting booklet was quite enough to whet the appetite and pique our curiosity.
