Majestic plums, and a lemon

As surely as the seasons change, so do Majestic Wine's price promotions. For the next few months all Spanish, South African and Portuguese wines have generic discounts. There are also plenty of offers on Italian, Languedoc and sparkling wines – as reflected in the tasting notes below, representing the cream of their autumn catalogue.

The particular highlights are excellent vintages of Green Point Brut and Brut Rosé from Australia, which held up very well against champagne heavyweights Bollinger and Laurent-Perrier, the latter of which was unusually ordinary – a victim of bottle variation, perhaps?
