Manincor, Alto Adige – a discussion with nature

After last week's audit of the quantitative significance of organic and biodynamic viticulture, and in the wake of Walter's conversion to Alto Adige Pinot Bianco, it seemed fitting to publish this account of the biodynamic estate of Manincor.
While organics has yet to be embraced widely in Alto Adige, the 400-year-old Manincor estate, consisting of some 50 ha, is managed completely biodynamically. The estate, positioned a stone's throw away from Lago di Caldaro of Schiava fame, is owned by Count Michael Goëss-Enzenberg, who had the extremely clever foresight to appoint Helmuth Zozin (pictured) as estate manager.
