The following wines were submitted by the wineries for a comprehensive tasting in Russian River at the end of last month to give me an idea of Russian River Valley’s characteristics and scope. They are listed below by grape variety, alphabetically, and within varietal in ascending order of recommended US retail price.

Mid crimson. from the north east, so warmer. Fresh, sweet, well balanced. Very complete. Still quite firm tannins.
