Sauvignon Blanc and Monkee Mountain
You would probably most readily associate this title with a new estate in New Zealand's Marlborough region, but even in the world of wine things are rarely as simple as that. The Sauvignon Blanc in this particular case comes from the unusual source of the Mittelrhein, but there is no trace to be found of Monkee Mountain or even its German equivalent Affenberg in the Mittelrhein, nor in the Ahr, the second wine region with which this report is concerned.
