Visiting Château Pavie

I write from the less-than-exciting confines of a bog standard hotel room in Bordeaux after 10 o’clock at night, room service cheese plate by my side, to tell you of my huge disappointment today.
This morning was scheduled the big Union des Grands Crus tasting of the wines of St Emilion and Pomerol where journalists such as myself who prefer to taste blind can go along to a designated château and try the most important wines of the appellations – except for a few such as Chx Ausone, Cheval Blanc, Le Pin and the Moueix wines which choose to operate...
