What exactly does Australia import?

As I reported in Australia changes focus, Australia’s shortage of cheap wine and resultant repositioning has resulted in plenty of talk about imports of bulk wine into Australia to go into some of the less expensive domestic brands there. I spent an enormous amount of my and other people’s time researching Australia’s import statistics and wine export figures from the likes of South Africa and South America but couldn’t find evidence of vast quantities of bulk wine finding their way into Australia.
