Wine Rack not Thresher
Monday 22 December 2008

Britain's largest off-licence chain, owned by First Quench Retailing, is yet again refashioning itself, turning more and more of its stores into Wine Racks directed at wine lovers, with Threshers more for the cig and spirits brigade.
Jonathan Butt, head of global sourcing at Wine Rack, assured me at a recent tasting of his wares, “they’re wines that you won’t see elsewhere. Wine Rack is more for the wine enthusiast and should be viewed completely differently.”
Expect to find 400 stores by this time next year. Price level is around £5-15, with the same ‘buy two get third free’ deal...
