Elciego, early morning. Pancho Campo MW and team have managed to attract the most extraordinary crowd to the two-day WineFuture conference here in Rioja.
Both quality and quantity are remarkable. At last night's welcome dinner for speakers, I sat next to Robert Parker and just two away from his wife Pat, whom I had not seen since my last visit to Maryland. The room was chock a bloc with wine luminaries from around the globe.
And according to Pancho, there will be more than 1,100 participants from 50 countries attending the sessions in Logroño today.
