The first of many reports on what is going on in the rapidly evolving Champagne region at the moment concentrates on two of the best growers, Eric Rodez and Bérêche & Fils.
In terms of overall sales figures, Champagne may be taking a bit of battering from the likes of Pros*cco and English sparkling wine, but what’s going on in the region belies that. There are all sorts of new producers, some completely new and some a new generation of an established producer or (often) grape grower, determined to put their seal on their very own range of champagnes.
