M&S is currently a business in the headlines, and not always for the most obvious reasons. Despite significant announcements at the end of February regarding a strategic deal with online grocery distributor Ocado, certain sectors of the press have majored on the ‘uproar’ regarding altered flavour resulting from removing gelatine from Percy Pig sweets, an M&S favourite, to make them vegetarian. Perhaps this was to be expected from a certain sector of the tabloid press, but probably the last thing the M&S board needs is more adverse publicity...
