Armit plugs the gap with Italy

Posh wine merchant Armit (restyled armit) was set up in 1981 by ex Corney and Barrow managing director John Armit, who sold a majority stake to Dutch wholesaler Baarsma in 2008. The company presented its Italian portfolio with great aplomb in London in March. As if to prove that the company has gained rather than lost from the takeover, they showed a pretty confident mix of iconic producers such as Gaja, Sassicaia from Tenuta San Guido, and Bruno Giacosa, as well as some new-found gems. Perhaps to underline that the company has its finger on the pulse of wine trends...
