Australian wine glut equals free flights

Kemeny's (www.kemenys.com.au), the largest independent wine retailer in Sydney and probably Australia, is currently offering free flights within Australia worth hundreds of dollars to anyone buying two cases of wine.
In Europe, where competition between all our budget airlines is such that we can easily fly between cities for pennies plus taxes, this might be no big deal. But a Sydney-Melbourne ticket usually costs around 600 Australian dollars, while 24 bottles of St Hallett Poachers Blend or Preece Cabernet costs less than $264.
