A selection of pretty smart red bordeaux selected for current drinking tasted blind.
In November the Royal Household Wine Committee was summoned to the Buckingham Palace cellars to taste a range of magnums of claret blind in order to choose a couple for the Queen to serve her guests at lunches and dinners.
It's always fun to taste a range of similar wines blind for professional purposes and I welcomed this chance to judge a range of red bordeaux that were judged about ready to drink, even if from a wide range of vintages – from 2015 back to 1996...
