The seventh of our alphabetically organised tasting articles collating reviews of all the young burgundy 2023s tasted by Matthew in the Côte d’Or and by Jancis, Julia and Tam in London. Matthew took the picture above of Andrew Nielsen of Le Grappin. See also this guide to our coverage of this vintage in Burgundy.
These 146 tasting notes are grouped alphabetically by producer (sur)name and within those groups are ordered whites before reds, ascending from generic through village, premiers and grands crus.

Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard (Chassagne-Montrachet)
Dom Jean-Noël Gagnard, Les Masures 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet
Something to grab the attention on the nose! Polished texture but assured fruit and classicism. A step up from some previous vintages. Really quite exciting. GV? (JR)
Dom Jean-Noël Gagnard, Les Chenevottes Premier Cru 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet
More generous than the Masures. But I think purists may prefer the Masures, even though this has more stuffing and bite. (JR)
Dom Jean-Noël Gagnard, Les Petits Clos Premier Cru 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet
Quite dense fruit – real volume here but some sweetness, which may not appeal to everyone. I've lost my heart to Les Masures ... (JR)
Dom Jean-Noël Gagnard, Clos de Tavannes Premier Cru 2023 Santenay
Pale cherry red. Some evolution on the nose. Very sweet, mellow start. But not the most refreshing. (JR)
Dom Jean-Noël Gagnard, Morgeot Premier Cru 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet
Pure and satisfying with gentle tannins. Good, pure, refreshing wine. Elegant. (JR)
Pierre-Olivier Garcia (Nuits-St-Georges)
Pierre-Olivier Garcia, Les Champs Tions 2023 Bourgogne Aligoté
Vegan. Promising aroma: intense, creamy, herbal citrus. Deep and generous on the palate but lacks the intensity of Boisset's Les Moutots (though I have not tasted the 2023). (JH)
13%Pierre-Olivier Garcia, La Montagne 2023 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits
Vegan. Light-to-mid crimson. Open and fragrant with tart red fruits. Attractively dry, chalky texture. Finest of tannins. (Apparently the red wines are all made with fruit that was manually destemmed so as not to break the berries.) Delicious but pricey. (JH)
12.5%Pierre-Olivier Garcia, Au Leurey 2023 Côte de Nuits-Villages
Vegan. Mid crimson. Vibrant, intense aroma of dark, peppery fruits, and a hint of stems. Quite stemmy on the palate. Fragrant, delicate, super-fine tannins but expensive, presumably because of the manual destemming. Persistent. (JH)
13%Pierre-Olivier Garcia, Les Herbues 2023 Nuits-St-Georges
Vegan. Beautifully perfumed with non-sweet and finely floral dark-red fruit. Finely tannic, scented from start to finish. A beauty, but seems more Chambolle that Nuits-St-Georges, except that the fruit is darker in character than typical Chambolle. (JH)
13.5%Pierre-Olivier Garcia, Les Grandes Vignes 2023 Nuits-St-Georges
Vegan. Lightish cherry red. Sweet, ripe aroma of tangy red cherries. Deliciously dry, chalky tannins. Another beauty of elegance and restraint. Builds to a chewy finish and very long. (JH)
