Oddballs from Oddbins

The highlights of a recent tasting of current offerings from Oddbins, the UK chain of distinctive wine stores, were the wines it lists from beyond the mainstream. Such curios are what gave Oddbins its original appeal, and it is great to know that these left-field bottles are available on some high streets, even if the Oddbins estate extends to only 46 stores these days. The range includes qvevri wine from Georgia, low-sulphur Gamay from Stellenbosch, and a number of unusual red blends.
