Patagonia always sounds so promisingly full of dramatic beauty and adventure, as Jancis reflected when she visited possibly the world's most southerly vineyard in Chilean Patagonia earlier this year. Although I was not able to make the journey south when I was in Argentina in March, thanks to having already gone so far north to Salta and spent several days (not long enough) in Mendoza, I had to compromise.
