Poor old Orange, the newish wine region in the hills of New South Wales. It has not been served well by the dominant winery there that was set up by a mob of over-ambitious investors as Cabonne. It became clear that this vast complex could not survive on processing thousands of tonnes of fruit for others (when I repeated their original sales forecasts to other Australian wine people after my visit there in 2001, they all fell off their chairs).
