An amazingly eclectic assortment of tasting notes from Singapore with an unexpected theme.
This month's selection of wines stretches from Australian Prosecco [sic] to Balinese fortified Muscat, and from Abruzzo rosé to a Greek blend of Limnio, Mavroudi and Mavrotragano. They have only one thing in common: they were all tasted with Asian food.
The randomness of the selection reflects the variety of the cuisines being tasted – and, by extension, the impossibility of categorising it as simply 'Asian'. Not all of the matches worked, of course, but it was certainly an eye-opening and occasionally eye-watering experience. One golden rule: don't pair...
