Now in its sixth edition (the first was in 1961), this is the iconic publication from Julian Jeffs that for a long time was the first and last word on sherry. According to the jacket, this edition is ‘completely revised and updated’, but much of the content of my fourth edition (Faber and Faber, 1992) seems to be reproduced in this sixth one, apart from some slight changes, particularly in the opening chapters where Jeffs’ history of sherry...
