Pomerol, along with Graves and Pessac-Léognan (both reds and especially whites), produced some of the best wines of 2012.
While I was tasting in Pomerol, I sensed some frustration that when wine lovers are discussing the quality of vintages, they are generally referring to the reports that have rung out noisily from the left bank, perhaps partly because the weather station used in most vintage reports is Mérignac, near the airport and just west of the city centre of Bordeaux, perhaps partly because of the greater size and sway...
