With the deadline for European wine labelling reforms (see Will Europe's labels change?) approaching fast, Italy's regional Consortia, the regional wine producer associations, are facing the enormous challenge of making their appellation systems conform to the new European standards.
One which has rolled out a particularly ambitious plan to cope with the new situation is the Consortium of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, effectively the Prosecco Consorzio.
