Reports from Bordeaux, the all-important wine region commercially, are that thinigs are going pretty well, despite the cool, grey, sometimes humid weather of August. It is currently boiling hot there now, so great attention is needed in the vineyard to aerate the bunches and, I assume, there has been much more spraying than in the dream year of 2005 to maintain the health of the grapes.
Unfortunately in a way, the flowering went very well and quantities overall look high. The best properties however will have been crop thinning like mad so, as Dany Rolland told me, the big problem remains...
