Landmark TNs – Sauvignon and Semillon

This session on day 3 of the Landmark Tutorial week was led by Iain Riggs of Brokenwood, who highlighted the worldwide increase in Sauvignon Blanc plantings compared with those of Semillon. He believes that one of the reasons for this is that consumers like the fact that they can identify the more obviously aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. Despite this trend, Australia still crushed about one and a half times as much Semillon as Sauvignon in 2008.
