Mainly 2003 Barolos and some exciting Sicilians

The following are notes taken at a tasting in London of Italian wines sold by Marco De Grazia in the US that are currently being offered by Justerini & Brooks in the UK.
The predominant wine style noted is 2003 Barolos, a challenging combo in view of the tough tannins resulting from this heatwave vintage. Although J&B’s pre-tasting notes optimistically suggested that the tannins in the wines from this drought-shrivelled crop might be “so smothered with ripe fruit that they appear rounder and more integrated than usual”, other tasters kept coming up to me asking, is Barolo...
