The first scientifically based session of last weekend's MW Symposium in Florence was entitled 'A new world of wine: how the viticultural map is changing'. This was one eagerly anticipated by the 64 MW students who attended despite the looming 2014 exams, not least because the moderator was John Hoskins MW, who is currently in charge of both the theory and practical MW exams. He teased them that the exam would be updated with the day's presentations in mind.
