Ribeiro – a delightful surprise

Ribeiro proved the most surprising and inspirational blind tasting I have undertaken since I began writing for JancisRobinson.com. My expectations were already high when I visited the Consejo Regulador headquarters, but after blind tasting 64 wines I found the quality of the wines beyond my expectations. In this article you will find lots of surprises: unknown wines and great value for money. The average score for all the whites I tasted was 16.1 – an astonishing result. Ribeiro may be in the shadow of Rías Baixas and Ribeira Sacra but it has its own potential.
