A small but well-formed tasting of five wines* from sister houses Delamotte and Salon, in the company of Didier Depond, president of both, chez London fine-wine merchant Corney & Barrow, revealed two things. The first has already been pointed out by Jancis in her introduction to the second half of 2004 deluxe champagnes: that Delamotte is good value compared with many other deluxe champagnes, 'a (relative) bargain'.
