Some great value from M&S

It's great that some of the most promising but not-yet-famous local grapes of southern Europe are making their way into the mass market at fine prices. Falanghina, anyone? Macabeo? Tasting my way through some of the new additions to Marks & Spencer's wine range (which seems to be permeating more and more branches nowadays, thank goodness), I was struck by some particularly good value new white Italian and Spanish wines at £5 something (search for the VGVs for Very Good Value) – although I am wary of recommending them because I tasted tank samples rather than finished bottled samples...
