The Wehlener Sonnenuhr is one of the Mosel’s most famous vineyards and its spoils are shared by a number of outstanding producers. What unites many of the top sites along the river is also what divides them – a unique individuality of terroir not shared by any of the other 520 plus vineyards of the region. The Wehlener Sonnenuhr is no exception and its steep, south-facing slopes covered by blue-shimmering Devonian slate yield some of the finest and most elegant renditions of Riesling to be found anywhere in the world.
