I went to a tasting of selected wines from Thresher / Wine Rack / Bottoms Up / Haddows wine stores yesterday and found it in general a rather dispiriting experience, but I am assured that if you look carefully you can find some bargains there as they clear the shelves to make space for current vintages. Casa Lapostolle's extremely superior Chilean Cabernet Cuvée Alexandre 1997, almost half price at £6.99, was mentioned.
