2021 Rhône En Primeur & Back Vintage Tasting; The Royal Over-Seas’ League, 23rd November 2022, 6.00pm

We are excited to offer the opportunity to taste the latest releases from the Rhône, alongside a mouth-watering selection of wines from the previous six vintages. Both the north and south of the Rhône have had a remarkable run of excellent vintages from 2015 onwards. Our multi-vintage (2015 – 2020) Rhône tasting evening will offer guests the opportunity to taste 2021 barrel samples alongside a corresponding wine from one of the brilliant 2015 to 2020 vintages – an excellent opportunity to get an idea for how the 2021s might evolve and to check in on some fantastic recent releases that are available for purchase. The format of the tasting is an informal walkaround. One of France’s most under-valued regions, the Rhône offers bountiful opportunity to stock the cellar with magnificent (and age-worthy) reds and wonderfully complex and fresh whites across the quality spectrum, while offering great value for money. Even at the top tier in Chateauneuf du Pape, Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie, wines are accessibly priced when compared to Grand Cru and Cru Classé in Burgundy and Bordeaux respectively.
