On Tuesday 28th November, we’re delighted to welcome Coline Marcenac to the Boot & Flogger, the original Davy’s Wine Bar, just a short walk from London Bridge Station for what promises to be a fantastic evening from this exceptional property. Coline works as the PR manager at Château Angélus. She’s an enthusiast of both the art of winemaking and the cultural intricacies of wine consumption. Her initiation took place in the very grounds of the estate in St Emilion, where she delved into the estate’s rich familial history, cultivation techniques and guiding principles, emerging as a true advocate for the Angélus brand. Coline’s wealth of knowledge will be perfect as she will guide us though the evening, talking us through this stunning line up of wines. Château Angélus is recognised all over the world as one of the jewels of St Emilion. The near 60 acres of superbly located vineyards are 1km due west of St.-Emilion and grow in a natural amphitheatre on the south-facing slope of St.-Emilion. The Premier Grand Cru Classé estate is composed of about 50% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. The sandy clay-limestone soils find a favourable home for the Cabernet at the foot of the vineyards and this terroir contributes to the wonderfully powerful, opulent, yet elegant Angélus style. Notes of candied violets, spicy dark fruit and truffle with a luscious, velvety and silky texture on the palate. After an aperitif, Coline will guide us through the history of the winery and what makes Château Angélus so special. We’ll taste through a magnificent range of the estates wines including top vintages and compare how they change and develop over the years.  We will also enjoy a specially prepared 4-course dinner with pairings. An unmissable and truly special evening.
