As I explained yesterday in my introduction to Bordeaux 2011 at Southwold – the right bank, I found many of the 2011 reds disappointing compared with how they showed en primeur in April 2012. Quite a few seemed a bit unbalanced and therefore tough and without the clear promise that they would improve greatly with further bottle age.
