Bullas – the tasting notes

Following yesterday's exploration of the history and geography of the Bullas vineyards, Ferran reports here on a blind tasting of the wines, some of the best of which are pictured above.
The tasting took place at the headquarters of the Consejo Regulador and was entirely blind.
In terms of vintages:
- 2020 was rainy and mild, and considered a great vintage. The best wines tended to come from the stoniest, least fertile soils and hillsides.
- 2021 was drier than 2020 and suffered several heatwaves, but the vineyards held up thanks to the reserves from the previous year.
