Wine and poetry make natural bedfellows; add in the support of a good cause, you have the perfect ménage à trois. Charitable organisation Poet In the City has done just this for its upcoming Poetry & Wine event in the City of London.

The event will present 36 Chilean wines alongside poetry readings by David Soul, the actor best known as Hutch from the 1970s television detective drama Starsky and Hutch. Included will be a 'selection of some of the best Chilean poetry [by Pablo Neruda] about wine, read in the original Spanish by Alfredo Cordal'.

Furthermore, a raffle will be held on the night with 'prizes including cases of high quality wine. All donations will go to Poet in the City and will support its important work, attracting new audience to poetry and raising poetry awareness in schools.'
